  1. 2013 Fossino Rosé

    2013 Fossino Rosé

The 2013 version of Fossino is perhaps the best yet, offering aromas of strawberries and raspberries with just a hint of barrel influence from the neutral barrels. The color is a pale pink, belying a medium-bodied and creamy texture. On the palate, the 2013 Fossino is bone dry but with a refreshing acidity perfect for weekends by the pool or relaxing in the hammock. One can’t help but imagine drinking it with fresh garden-grown tomatoes accompanied by mozzarella and olive oil (and, for those who dare such a tough pairing, fresh basil and salt and pepper). 2. 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

    2013 Sauvignon Blanc

The Antica staff is immensely proud of their first effort at Sauvignon blanc and bullish on the future of this variety on Atlas Peak. Aromatically, the wine offers a balance between the fresh-cut grass aromas common to New Zealand versions while also incorporating guava, pineapple and tropical aromas common to the California take on the variety. There is a touch of oak in the background framing the fruit aromatics and the lees-contact and stirring offers just a touch of the yeast characters common to barrel-fermented Chardonnay. The wine is full-bodied but cleansing and screams for white, flaky fish lightly seasoned and grilled on a glorious summer’s evening. Read more >

  3. 2012 Sangiovese

    2012 Sangiovese

A bold Napa Valley take on a classic Italian wine. The dark crimson color reflects the beauty of an ideal growing season and Atlas Peak District’s warm daytime highs and cool nighttime lows. Aromas of rose petals are complemented by the innate fruit of the Californian grape-growing climate, buttressed by complex flavors of cherry and raspberry. Sangiovese’s typical refreshing acidity offers a cleansing of the palate while the present but sweet, velvety tannins frame the full-bodied nature of the wine’s texture. Read more >

  4. 2011 Merlot

    2011 Merlot

See what our favorite estate blocks of Merlot do when allowed to shine on their own! For this inaugural bottling, we sorted and cold-soaked the fruit prior to fermentation, and then aged the resulting wine for 17 months in French oak to bring out the finest of what Atlas Peak District Merlot can offer. Aromas of licorice, mocha, cocoa and bright red cherries greet the nose, and in the mouth, the wine is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and food-friendly acidity. We call this a “Cabernet lover’s Merlot” because its beautiful structure and complexity call for a meal with rich sauces and flavors. Read more >

  5. 2011 Zinfandel

    2011 Zinfandel

When the Antinoris began their development on Atlas Peak in 1986, there were very few vineyards nearby. One was Mead Ranch, which was planted in 1916 with Zinfandel. The Antinoris asked for cuttings from these vines to create a small planting of Zinfandel on their estate to ensure the continuity of these old vines. Antica’s Zinfandel vineyard, a mere 0.7 acres, produces a miniscule amount of Zinfandel, but it is solidly rooted in the appellation’s history. Zinfandel is reflective of the land on which it was grown and the vagaries of the season. In 2011, cuttings from ancient vines produced a wine with a black pepper and raspberry aroma profile and beautiful length on the palate. Read more >

  6. 2012 Pinot Noir

    2012 Pinot Noir

The 2012 is classic California Pinot Noir, with bing cherry, plum and brambly fruit aromas. The wine offers a palate-cleansing freshness and the tannins are present but silky with a plush texture. Made from an equal blend of Dijon clones 115, 77 and 667, this wine has a beautiful presence and elegance about it. Read more >
